What have you learned from your Audience Feedback?
For this part of the Evaluation i had to gather Audience feedback from a range of audiences,In a variety of different ways.
They explain what they like and dislike about my final media products, and if there was anything that I could have changed to improve it even more.
Positive Feedback on the music video
- Love the editing combined with the beats throughout the video
- The Lip-Syncing was good and in time
- The Actor suits the role
- Relates to the genre of your song
- The Narrative goes well with the song
- The Cuts and effects used show the typical conventions of a music video
- Sells the artist and the artist sells the story
- I like that the main focus is just on the artist.
- Maybe too many fade shots, could branch out editing skills
- Could add some colour into the video
- Different locations to branch out the narrative even more
- Could emphasis narrative more
As well as someone talked about the relation to the beats throughout the music which match the edits throughout the music video, this approves the theory of Steve archer that I used, he said 'they build on the soundtrack's visual associations in order to connect with the audience and provide that additional pleasure' basically saying that matching the edits with the beats become more attracting to the audience.
Here are Some of the Demographics from the video since it was put on YouTube showing how successful/unsuccessful it has become since publishing it. This also shows what kind of audiences are watching my videos, and how many likes and views it has got since posting it. At the minute this shows that only girls have watched my video suggesting a different kind of audience. This also shows the age range in which my music video has been viewed.
I have put this in as it can be seen as audience feedback as some viewers have also commented saying what they liked about the video and there honest opinion on what could be improved.
Here are the comments that I have received from posting my YouTube Video, these also helped with the audience feedback as it showed many people across the UK and the world that have seen liked and commented on my video between the ages of 13-44 years. Suggesting to me that my video can be liked by wide audience.
Another way of gathering Audience feedback for my Music video was by creating a Survey, Here are the responses that i received back from it.
This question was one to look more into what my target audience would be, before I made this survey I said that my target audience would be between the ages of 15-25 years which is quite a wide age range but I believe that my video can attract a vast audience. The feedback on this question proves that the age range I said may have been a little be wider than I thought, but still keeps it similar to the target audience I was aiming for.
This feedback shows that the audience liked the use of edits and colours, showing that the idea I had to turn everything black and white was a good one.
With this feedback I took it all in tact and it shows that some of the audience feedback believe that there is nothing that they didn't like about my music video, where as other opinions critic the use of the same shots near the end and that some of the lip Synching doesn't look as genuine and gone for as some of the other lip Synching that my actor did.
This is the best type of feedback to get as it shows all the different opinions on minor things that could be improved to my music video to make it better than it already is. This feedback shows me that I could of included faster shots or different edits.
This question shows the overall rating from my audience feedback, showing that the average rating of my music video is a 4.40 suggesting that my video is closer to a 4 rating than to a 5 rating.
- Like the Front Cover and the Font of the artist's name
- The Editing&the main image look professional
- Intimate Image, creating a personal link to the audience
- Cohesive hair with the video
- Back cover image is striking and in your face
- Unusually eye catching
- Don't like the red font on the back cover, Looks odd compared to the rest of the image
- Could change the position of the barcode
- Could of added some background colour to Digipak to make it stand out more
This Feedback shows me that a lot of my audience enjoy the variety of images and colours used in my Digipak, although there are some slight changes that could have been made to make it better there are still enough positive comments to overcome the bad ones.
As well as some of the audience feedback suggested that if they saw the Digipak they would purchase it as the striking Front image entices them, as the image looks so professional and especially shows off the artist's uniqueness. The negative feedback showed me that different audiences have very different opinions on what they expect from a Digipak and other media products and that i should have maybe aimed my media products towards a set target audience.
After looking back on this feedback it shows that i cannot make every audience happy and excited about this Digipak but shows that the main audience love the images that are contained in my Digipak. The one feature that I would not change is the fact that the 'artist' is on every single panel, I would keep this because this sells the artist and would make audiences remember the unique style of that specific artist just by the images used in their Digipak. After getting feedback I believe that my Digipak adheres to the classic conventions of a Digipak. However I personally would only change a few things and would mainly keep the style of my Digipak as I believe it had more positive Feedback than Negative, showing that not everybody can like the same things, but this happens with everything.

Positive Feedback on the Magazine Advert
- Fits in well with the rest of your ancillary
- Picture of the Artist Stands out, sells the artist too
- The artist's name stands out at the top, aswell as 'the new album' shows audience what it is
- The Yellow & Red colouring stands out over the black and white backgrounds
- Able to recognize Digipak from advert
Negative Feedback on the Magazine Advert
- Haven't put when the album is going to be released
- Good but odd as artists hair is cut off
- no logos used in the advert
- Moved the 'new album' writing up a little to cover the hair ending.
From this Feedback that I received it was clear that alot of my audience liked the magazine advert and how it related back to rest of my ancillary texts, However they did not like the look of the advert from first sight as it looked a little odd and not as 'professional' looking as the Digipak did.
One thing that I now know that I would improve on is to change the way the picture is laid out so that the artist's hair isn't cut off and doesn't look as random.
My Audience have shown me that relating the magazine advert to the Digipak album is also a way of attracting wider audiences because they are able to see the weirdness of the picture stand out from advert, drawing them close to see what the advert is actually about, inking everything together. However to make this magazine advert the best it could be I could have improved it a little by adding in minor conventions such as the date of when the album is out just to make it clear to the audience who are interested in the Digipak album.
