Magazine Advert Analysis- Three

Kings of Leon
Magazine Advert
This magazine advert is different to others because the image is interesting and abstract, it is a merged image of the four members of Kings of Leon and an eagle, it is easily noticeable and attracting to an audience, I chose to analyse this magazine advert because when i first saw it I immediately liked it and thought I would be able to create something like this for my Magazine advert.

Makeup&Hair
Although this isn't the most important part of the Magazine advert it is still notable that the hair that is seen is clean cut, neat and tidy. As well as the make-up isn't really visible because of the colour of the advert, but again the faces that are seen look airbrushed and tidy, which is appealing to some audiences to see a neat band, rather than a scruffy unappealing band.

Positioning
The positioning of the band members is vital because the focus of this image is mainly the picture in the center, this is important for an audience to recognize exactly who the band is by this image alone. The image takes up the whole of the age because it is seen as the most crucial part of a magazine advert, and because the image isn't one that is bright of bold the image itself holds the vital needs to attract audiences.

Eye Contact
Although the image is not bold or brightly coloured the center of the image shows two eyes staring directly into the audience looking at it, showing a connection with whoever is looking at the magazine advert. As well as the contact with the eagle eyes the contact with the human eyes is crucial too because it makes the picture stand out more compared to its background.

Shot Type
I assume that this is a mid shot of all four of the Kings of Leon members, then the pictures are shrunk down to create a merge of their faces with a closeup of an eagle merged over the top of their faces to give off an interesting outlook.

Font Type
The font used for the title of the album is one that stands out the most because of its peculiar writing style, the band name at the top shows importance by making the whole advert is made recognizable, the Bold white capital letters across the top of the page stand out and would easily be seen straight away. The text at the bottom of the page is also one that stands out because of the use of yellow colouring, which is bolder and brighter especially against the black background, as well as the words 'out now' that stand out in the red writing although it is a little bit smaller than the Band name and album title but is still noticeable straight away.

Layout
The layout of this magazine advert is simple because the main part of it is the picture because it is so intriguing and interesting to see, it is again a portrait advert so it would be on a whole page of a magazine and would stand out as soon as the page is flicked on to. Kings of Leon have made sure that they are noticed straight away, and that the alum is recognized because it is seen as the biggest part of the advert.
